Nothing is Impossible...with God
Matthew 19:21-26
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
I don’t know why we sometimes think we can serve and live for God without Him. Trying to live in holiness, walk by faith and not by sight, and keep hope alive when everything around us tells us to give up… it’s hard sometimes.
We all fall short of the glory of God. We give in to temptations at times, and other times we feel confused, unsure if the path we’re on is the right one or if we’re truly living out our purpose.
On top of that, there’s so much happening around us every day. Sometimes it feels pointless to read our Bible, to pray, to forgive, to have faith, to grow, to submit to God, to obey, to share the gospel, and to live out our faith. It’s hard. But the truth is, you were never meant to walk this Christian journey on your own. You were given a helper—the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the key, the one who makes all things possible.
Matthew 19:19-26 reminds us that salvation is entirely the work of God, a gift received by grace through faith. In His goodness, God not only gave us this gift but also gave us the Holy Spirit—a helper who empowers, instructs, and guides us to do the will of the Father.
Whenever it feels like living this life is tough and overwhelming, remember that it is not difficult with God through His Holy Spirit.
